Abuja police open investigation into murder of singer Chop Boii
Sep. 29 (THEWILL) – The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has said it is investigating the murder of popular Abuja-based musician Chop Boii aka Sempe and his producer, as well as his producer. two others in Gwarimpa.
It is worth recalling that Chop Boii was murdered alongside three of his friends in the Gwarimpa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Tuesday, September 29, 2022, by as yet unidentified gunmen.
FCT Police Command Spokesperson DSP Josephine Adeh who confirmed having knowledge of the alleged murder noted that the police have intervened to unravel those responsible for the despicable act.
When contacted about it, she said, “Yes, we are investigating.”
She said: ‘This is a case of suspected culpable homicide, the wife of one of the deceased, a Blue Jack queen, had previously informed the police that they did not know the whereabouts of her husband, who left home with a friend and all efforts to reach them both proved abortive.
“Upon receipt of this information, a team of detectives attached to the Gwarimpa division were mobilized to the scene where her husband and three other people were found dead in their pool of blood.
“The bodies were taken to hospital for possible medical intervention, but their death was confirmed by a doctor on duty.
“The deceased was deposited at the morgue of Kubwa General Hospital (Abuja), discreet investigations have begun and emerging developments will be communicated later.”
Chop Boii and his colleagues were allegedly murdered at his producer’s residence in Gwarimpa, Abuja and the assailants allegedly cut off the fingers of the murdered musician and four others, dipped them in their blood and used it to write on the wall of the House.
The incident happened when the late Chop Boii had gone to produce his latest music at his producer’s studio.
“The late Chop Boii was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” a friend of the late musician tweeted.
Sources link their deaths to a secret cult-related war, adding that the late Chop Boii was the victim of a false identity.
It was further understood that the popular musician was not the target, but because he was at the scene at the time, the alleged killers attacked him to silence the evidence.
