A 23-year-old woman died of her injuries on Monday morning, 10 days after being seriously injured in a fire that ripped through the Mountain B nightclub southeast of the capital in Chonburi province.

Forty more people were injured in the early morning inferno when fast-moving flames spread through the nightclub.
Owner Pongsiri Panprasong, 27, has been charged with mortal negligence and running an unlicensed nightclub.
Pongsiri confessed to both counts, according to his lawyer, Anucha Wongsrirat. It will offer 50,000 THB (1,400 USD) to compensate the families of those who lost their lives and 10,000 THB (280 USD) to the injured.
The venue did not have a license to operate as a nightclub. Five officers assigned to Plutaluang police station in Chonburi’s Sattahip district have been disciplined while a committee is investigating their role in allowing the unlicensed club to operate.
