Fair Oak singer Amy Jade performs at the Wickham Festival and releases new single

A YOUNG singer-songwriter is taking the music scene by storm and releasing her new single this week.

Amy Hughes, otherwise known as AMYJADE, performed at the Wickham Festival just weeks before her fifth single ‘Coming Back’ is due out on Monday.

The 24-year-old Fair Oak artist started performing at the age of 12 and has never looked back.

“I haven’t stopped playing”

She said: “I grew up in a very musical family, but it wasn’t until I saw my cousin and his band traveling and touring that I thought I’d give it a try.

“I saw it with my own eyes, so I knew it was possible, and I haven’t stopped since.

“I started training professionally at the age of 14 and when I finished my studies I started playing concerts and releasing my own songs.

“It’s hard to find something you want to stick with, but I’ve never stopped doing it.”

Amy was invited to perform on the acoustic stage at the Wickham Festival in early August thanks to connections made at open mic parties.

She has since been invited back to next year’s festival.

Daily Echo:

She said: “By doing this, I was proving to the festival that small groups are just as entertaining and worth investing in.

“The acoustic stage was quite small compared to the main stage, but having fewer people meant there was a better atmosphere and it was more personal, which I really appreciate.”

“I want people to enjoy my music”

Amy is now looking forward to the release of her single “Coming Back”.

She said: “It’s always a nerve-wracking thing, but I have a good feeling about this one.

Daily Echo:

“I want people to enjoy and play my music because they like how it sounds, not because I force them to.”

“Coming Back” can be heard on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
