Former Disney CEO Bob Iger is the lead singer of a new boy band, it seems.
Old left the House of Mouse on Dec. 31, 2021, and while the 47-year-old Disney veteran hasn’t elaborated on his post-Mickey plans in numerous interviews, he’s safe to say he doesn’t plan to waste to do nothing.

As Iger’s retirement date drew closer, Disney’s advice was tapped for media interviews across the country, and it was through those interviews that fans learned of Iger’s proudest moments at Disney and his lack of definite plans after his last day with Disney.
At one point there was speculation that Iger had a stake in become part owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, although nothing has yet materialized from this speculation.

The one thing we knew for sure about Iger was that he had no intention of becoming a “couch potato,” as he shared during an interview on Sirius XM Radio. Iger said instead he was interested in finding his next adventure.

It’s clear as mud, isn’t it? Now what exactly is he going to do?
We weren’t entirely clear on that either, and his next tweet only added to the confusion.

Then it was clear from the photo that would experience his new adventures as a member of a boy band. We were delighted.
(But apparently that wasn’t quite it.)

The photo shared by Iger is the “Web 3.0 version” of himself, created by the 5-year-old startup he invested in called Genies. It is owned by a 29-year-old man named who said he “can’t think of a better creative and product thinker than Bob to collaborate with”.

According to CNBCIger will serve as a member of the start-up’s board of directors.
“[This week]3D Start-up Genies has announced that Iger is joining its board of directors and investing an undisclosed sum in the -based business,” the post read. “Founded in 2017, Genies’ mobile app allows users to create their own personalized digital avatars – three-dimensional cartoon versions of themselves – for their social media profiles and, optionally, browse the metaverse. .”
We must therefore admit that isn’t the lead vocals behind a new singing group, but he’s embracing his next adventure doing what many do – joining teams of creative and successful individuals working to create and grow the metaverse.
Disney has announced that Mickey and company will also be joining the Metaverse, so who knows? Maybe Iger will end up sharing his new adventure with some old friends!
