The High Court on Tuesday granted early bail to singer and former ATN Bangla TV news presenter Eva Arman, who has been charged in a human trafficking case.

A bench of Judge Mustafa Zaman Islam and Judge Md Salim granted Eva six weeks bail after she went to court to seek bail.

On June 24, Gulshan police filed charges against Eva and 9 others, most of whom are girls, for allegedly forcing them into prostitution after inviting girls to the Aroma Thai spa in the capital from different parts of the country. .

Police said in the case that the spa center had been opened on the fifth floor of Eva’s seven-storey building at Gulshan 2 in the capital and that legal proceedings were being carried out there.

Eva’s lawyer, ABM Altaf Hossain, argued that the singer was only the owner of the building and was not involved in the alleged offences.

The lawyer told the court that Eva had filed a general log with the Gulshan police station against the illegal act of the upstairs tenant.
