Nigerian singer Tems cancels performance in Kenya – GhettoRadio 89.5 FM
Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name as Tems, has canceled her performance at the Tukutane Festival.
On her Twitter page, the singer said she was canceling her performance at the event due to unavoidable circumstances.
Tems’ cancellation comes just weeks after Nigerian artist Fave expressed her disappointment at a Kenyan promoter who allegedly duped her.
The “Damages” singer, however, promised her fans an apology while promising them an epic show in the future.
“Hi Kenya. Honestly it’s quite heartbreaking to say this but I will not be able to perform at the Tukutane Festival due to circumstances beyond my control. I am as disappointed as all of you but can’t wait to come and give you a show you deserve. I love you all,” she said.
The Tukutane Festival will take place on October 11 at the Karen Waterfront.
Two months ago, Kenyans couldn’t contain their excitement on social media when Tems shared that the country could be his next stop.

The singer shared the news on her Twitter page stating that her visit will be in the country’s capital.
“Nairobi, Kenya, I’m coming very soon,” her post read, along with the red heart emoji and the Kenyan flag.
Fans showed their love for her, with some noting that they wouldn’t consider one day enough for the performance, adding that more days should be reserved for the Afrobeats star’s performances.
“Tems anafaa kuruns three days per shift,” wrote Sandra Psoboi.
