Singer Matt Goss targets PM as he confesses ‘political passion’

Matt Goss, lead singer of 80s boy band Bros, has said he wants to be Prime Minister of the UK by 2029.

Despite the fact that he now resides in America, the singer has his sights set on leading the country for the next decade.

When will I be famous? star has vowed to stand up for the country’s working class and recently weighed in on the notion.

The 53-year-old said: “I would like to be prime minister so I can have frank conversations about the proletariat.”

“We’re not robots, we live, breathe human beings with feelings that need to be considered a bit more,” he said.

Matt, who was in the band in the 1980s with his brother Luke, did not say which party he would belong to but swore he was “passionate about politics”.

The 80s heartthrob now makes a living singing in Las Vegas, but he said growing up in South East London with barely any money was the time of his life.

He recalls his childhood in the capital: “I was happiest at 37 Crawford Road in Camberwell, London. My mother had separated from my father and we had nothing, but I remember roast potatoes, two pence in the gas meter and music.

Goss admitted it was “the only time in his life he felt at home”.

Matt, who played with his twin brother in the band Bros, recently revealed that he keeps a gun nearby when he sleeps.

The singer also spends his time honing his shooting skills on the range and proclaims that he is a “good shooter” and a “good shooter.”

“It’s terrifying, absolutely terrifying what this thing can do,” Matt said.

Goss earned a Brit Award during his time in the group and wrote the theme song for the reality dance competition So You Think You Can Dance?

The Bros’ debut album Push went four times platinum and the band hit eight top five singles during its run.

Matt began his solo career in 1995 and released 23 singles, four of which reached the top 40.
